As an amendment to motion S7M-01114 in the name of Stephen Gethins (Scotland’s Energy Opportunity), insert at end "; recognises that Scotland’s energy future must be built on a secure, affordable and sustainable mix of sources for decades to come; welcomes the UK Government’s commitment to putting Scotland at the heart of the UK’s renewable energy generation, through a modern industrial strategy, billions of pounds of public and private investment, and upgrades to the grid to improve electricity transmission, and calls on the Scottish Government to speed up planning, to work with trade unions and industry and to invest in the skills that Scotland’s energy sector needs, and to ensure that local communities share in the wealth generated by Scotland’s energy.
