On Thursday 22 September 2022, I visited the Stena Spey drilling rig, Scapa Flow, Orkney as the guest of drilling contractor Stena Drilling Ltd (Ullevi House, Greenbank Crescent, East Tullos Industrial Estate, Aberdeen, AB12 3BG). The total cost of return flights from Edinburgh to Orkney, meals, and one night’s overnight accommodation was £780. I also received gifts consisting of a pair of shoes, overall, and a bag worth £170.
