I am a Councillor for South Lanarkshire Council (South Lanarkshire Council HQ, Almada Street, Hamilton, ML3 0AA). I estimate to spend an average of 15 house per week in this role. I receive the basic councillor salary of between £25,001 and £30,000 per annum which is deducted from my MSP salary. The Council also provides me the use of mobile devices. From May 2022 to 27 May 2026, I was Council Leader but I chose to forego the full Leader's salary for the period between 8 and 27 May 2026 during the transition to a new Council Leader. The full Council Leader salary for South Lanarkshire Council was between £60,001 and £65,000.
