Remuneration and related undertaking

I am a Councillor for Fife Council (of Fife House, North Street, Glenrothes, KY7 5LT). I spend around 2-3 days per week on this role. I receive a salary between £25,001 and £30,000 per annum. The basic rate of the councillor salary is deducted from my MSP salary. Until 10 June 2026, when I resigned, I also received senior responsibility allowance amounting to £10,986 for my role as Convener of South and West Fife Area Committee.

I am a Principal Hydrologist for Kiloh Associates (civil, structural and environmental engineering consultancy; of Pitreavie Business Park, Unit 6 Pitreavie Ct, Dunfermline, KY11 8UU). I anticipate working up to 1 day per month in an ad hoc peer review role. I anticipate receiving remuneration of between £1,001 and £2,000 annually.

Until 16 May 2026, when I resigned, I was a Company Director of Sustainability Fife Limited (Fife Council Arms Length External Organisation for the purposes of waste collection, waste transfer, resource recovery and consultancy; of Fife House, North Street, Glenrothes, Fife, KY7 5LT). I received no remuneration for this role.

I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM). I hold no office within the organisation and receive no remuneration relating to my membership.

I am a Company Director of North Queensferry Community Trust (activities for the benefit and development of the communities within the electoral boundaries of North Queensferry Community Council; of 3 Carlingnose Point, North Queensferry, Fife, United Kingdom, KY11 1ER). This is a Fife Council appointment for which I receive no remuneration.

I am a member of the British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association. I hold no office within the organisation and receive no remuneration relating to my membership.
