That the Net Zero, Energy and Transport Committee recommends that the Companies Act 2006 (Scottish public sector companies to be audited by the Auditor General for Scotland) Order 2026 [draft] be approved.

That the Parliament congratulates Jane Duncan Rogers on winning the Pro-Ageing Substack Writer award at the 2025 Advantages of Age Awards in London; notes that the award for the Forres-based writer and ageing-well coach is in recognition of her advice blog and newsletter; recognises that Jane was up against five other finalists from across the UK and that judges felt that her work was high quality and that her storytelling was emotionally resonant; believes that this award recognises outstanding writing that challenges negative narratives around ageing, and wishes Jane, and her successful blog, well for the future.

That the Parliament congratulates the team at Poppyscotland in Elgin, Moray, for raising the largest ever amount of money during this year's Poppy Appeal; understands that the record sum of £28,230 was collected by volunteers in and around Elgin; believes that special thanks go to members and veterans of the local military community, Police Scotland Youth Volunteers, air and sea cadets and staff and pupils at Gordonstoun School for their efforts, along with Poppyscotland volunteers; acknowledges the part played by many businesses that supported the appeal by placing Poppy Appeal tins in their shops or allowing the Poppy Appeal team to set up stands on their premises; applauds local people and visitors to Elgin for their generous donations and support for such an important charity, and commends the work of everyone who helped to raise this record total and the work that Poppyscotland does in Moray and across Scotland. 

That the Parliament congratulates the pupils and teachers at Westruther Primary School, and Westruther Parent Council, on hosting a Heritage Celebration at Westruther Village Hall on 27 November 2025; recognises the hard work of pupils and staff in creating an event that celebrates the village’s history and heritage; welcomes the programme of activities, including a ceilidh, history talks presented by the children, Scottish snacks provided by the Old Thistle Inn, and heritage scrapbooks that were created by pupils; commends the development of three new village trails, for nature, fitness and heritage, which were designed and planned by the pupils, and considers that this event represents a fantastic opportunity to bring the community together to celebrate local heritage.

That the Parliament congratulates Father John McGinley on his ordination jubilee; recognises Father McGinley for his 40 years of priesthood and for his years of service to the Catholic Church; recognises the tireless work he does on behalf of not just his parish of St Mary’s and St Joseph’s but also for the wider Duntocher and Faifley community; thanks Father McGinley for all of the work he has done for the past 40 years, and wishes him all the best for the future.

That the Parliament congratulates Quintiliani’s Fish and Chips on winning best Fish and Chips in Scotland at the Scottish Italian Awards, which were held on 30 November 2025; further congratulates the efforts of staff at Quintiliani’s, who worked to produce a product that celebrates the best of Scottish and Italian cuisines; recognises the importance of Italy’s rich culinary tradition in the establishment of the Italian diaspora in Scotland; understands the importance of family-owned restaurants and take-aways to Scotland’s high streets, and celebrates the success of the hospitality sector in Larkhall.

That the Parliament congratulates community groups across Clackmannanshire on receiving support through the Grassroots Make It Happen Fund (MIHF), which is part of the What Matters to You (WM2U) approach delivered in partnership with Clackmannanshire Council’s Family Wellbeing Partnership; notes that the Grassroots MIHF panels, which are made up entirely of local residents, have awarded a total of £14,463 to 29 community-led projects across the Alloa, Lornshill and Hillfoots catchment areas; understands that this funding forms part of a wider £30,000 allocation designed to empower communities, strengthen family wellbeing and support positive change for children, families and neighbourhoods; recognises that the MIHF panels themselves designed the funding process, reviewed applications and selected projects that reflect local priorities, demonstrating Clackmannanshire’s commitment to community-led decision making and systems change; acknowledges the support of The Hunter Foundation, BBC Children in Need, The Robertson Trust and The William Grant Foundation; welcomes the celebration events held at the Cochrane Hall in Alva on 21 November 2025 and at the Bowmar Centre in Alloa on 29 November, which brought together community members, young people and project leaders to mark these achievements, and commends all the local residents, volunteers, partner organisations and young people involved for their dedication to strengthening and empowering communities across Clackmannanshire.

That the Parliament congratulates The Village Fish Bar in Neilston on its inclusion in the finals of the 2025 Scottish Italian Awards, in the category, Scotland’s Best Fish and Chips; understands that, in addition to being a finalist, the establishment has been given what is sees as a prestigious Highly Recommended endorsement by the Italian Awards; notes that The Village Fish Bar is a staple of the community in Neilston and has consistently provided fantastic service and quality to its customers; celebrates that this family run business is receiving national recognition for its food, and wishes it continued success in serving the community of Neilston in the future.
