Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)

To ask the Scottish Government whether it, local authorities, NHS boards or Scottish Water can raise finance for capital spending from private finance sources, while keeping that finance from counting against public expenditure totals, and whether current policy encourages any such private finance schemes to help public authorities meet their statutory duties.

To ask the Scottish Government what consideration it will give to the recommendation by the Scottish Animal Welfare Commission in the Report on the use of handheld remote-controlled training devices (e-collars) in dog training that the use of e-collars for the training of animals should be prohibited in Scotland.
