Good morning, and welcome to the first meeting of the Climate Action Committee in session 7. I look forward to working with all colleagues from across the Parliament. We have an important role to play in this session of Parliament, and I am sure that we will manage to work well together. There will be areas of consensus and areas of difference, but I am sure that we will deal with that accordingly.
The first item on the agenda is a declaration of interests. As this is the committee’s first meeting, I invite each member to declare any interests relevant to the remit of the committee.
I will begin. I do not have any relevant interests to declare for the committee.
I wrote a book called “Life Design for Women: Conscious Living as a Force for Positive Change”, which has a strong focus on changes that people can make in relation to climate change and nature. That is on my entry in the register of members’ interests.
I have no relevant interests to declare.
My entry in the register of members’ interests says that I am a councillor at City of Edinburgh Council. I also declare that my husband is employed as a principal engineer by Sweco, which is an Edinburgh-based engineering consultancy firm.
I do not have any relevant interests to declare.
I remain a councillor at Fife Council. Prior to the election, I was a principal hydrologist with Kiloh Associates, and I have agreed to remain so for a period, for peer review purposes, on an ad hoc basis. I am also a member of the Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management, and I am a company director of North Queensferry Community Trust.
