At its first meeting on 24 June 2026, the Committee agreed to hold a snapshot inquiry in September to scrutinise the Scottish Government’s Rural Support Plan, which was published in March 2026.

Further into autumn, there will be introductory evidence sessions with a wide range of stakeholders focusing on land use (forestry and peatlands), land reform, and marine and fisheries.

The Committee will discuss the rest of its future work programme at a meeting in early September.
