1. The Promise - Staff Recruitment and Retention:

The Committee heard evidence from—

Claire Burns, Director, CELCIS;

Fiona Duncan, Independent Strategic Advisor;

Professor Trish McCulloch, Professor of Social Work and Deputy Dean in the School of Humanities, Social Sciences and Law, University of Dundee;

Laura Caven, Chief Officer, Children and Young People Team and Co-Chair of the Additional Support for Learning Project Board, Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA);

Alison Bavidge, National Director, Scottish Association of Social Work (SASW);

Stephen Smellie, Chair of Social Work Issues Group, UNISON Scotland.


2. SQA Higher History Review 2024:

The Committee heard evidence from—

Jenny Gilruth, Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills and Clare Hicks, Director, Education Reform, Scottish Government;

Fiona Robertson, Chief Executive and Martyn Ware, Director of Policy, Analysis and Standards, Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).


3. Subordinate legislation (In Private):

The Committee considered and agreed its draft report on the Regulated Roles (Prohibitions and Requirements) (Scotland) Regulations 2024 [draft].


4. Consideration of Evidence Session (In Private):

The Committee will consider the evidence it heard by correspondence.
