On 20 May 2021, the Auditor General for Scotland published Scotland's colleges 2020
The Blog says:
"Scotland's colleges play a vital role in helping people learn new skills and fulfil their potential. Colleges also make significant contributions in supporting the country’s social and economic recovery from Covid-19 - but college audits for 2019-20 show that many continue to face significant financial challenges."

The Committee took evidence from; David Belsey, Educational Institute of Scotland; Stephen Boyle, the Auditor General for Scotland; Matt Crilly, National Union of Students Scotland; Audrey Cumberford, College Principals' Group; Gillian Ritchie, Education Scotland; Shona Struthers, Colleges Scotland; and Karen Watt, Scottish Funding Council.
Decision: The Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government on issues raised during the meeting.
Decision: At its meeting on 3 February 2022, the Committee considered correspondence from the Scottish Government and agreed to continue its scrutiny of the report.
