1. Decisions on taking business in private:

The Committee agreed to take items 3, 4 and 6 in private.


2. Climate Change Plan:

The Committee took evidence from—

Professor Jill Belch, Co-Chair of Air Pollution Working Group, Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh;

Professor Peter Scarborough, Professor of Population Health, University of Oxford.

Dr Sandesh Gulhane declared an interest as a practising NHS GP.


3. Subordinate legislation (In Private):

The Committee considered a draft report on the Hydrolysis (Scotland) (No. 1) Regulations 2026 and the Hydrolysis (Scotland) (No. 2) Regulations 2026. Various changes were agreed to. The Committee delegated to the Convener responsibility for finalising the draft report for publication.


4. Work programme (In Private):

The Committee considered its work programme. It agreed to invite selected stakeholders to give oral evidence to the Committee on the role of sport and physical activity in promoting health and wellbeing; to invite selected stakeholders to give oral evidence as part of periodic scrutiny of the work of Public Health Scotland; to invite selected stakeholders to give oral evidence as part of periodic scrutiny of the work of Food Standards Scotland, including the finalised Good Food Nation Plan; to schedule these evidence sessions to take place at future meetings before the end of the current parliamentary session; to delegate further planning in the event of changes to timings and/or witnesses to the clerks and Convener; and to issue a targeted call for written views to inform its scrutiny of the Public Bodies (Joint Working) (Integration Joint Boards) (Scotland) Amendment Order 2025.


5. ADHD and autism pathways and support (In Private):

The Committee considered a draft report. Various changes were agreed to. The Committee delegated to the Convener responsibility for finalising the draft report for publication.


6. Climate Change Plan (In Private):

The Committee agreed to consider the evidence it heard earlier under agenda item 2 at its next meeting.
