1. Decisions on taking business in private:

The Committee agreed to take items 4, 5 and 6 in private.

2. Public Health Scotland:

The Committee took evidence from—

Cllr Nairn Angus-McDonald, Non-Executive Director, Cllr Julie Bell, Non-Executive Director, Alastair Boyle MBE, Board Chair and Paul Johnston, Chief Executive Officer, Public Health Scotland.

Clare Haughey declared an interest as holding a bank nurse contract with NHS Glasgow and Clyde and as a registered mental health nurse. Sandesh Gulhane declared an interest as a practising NHS GP.

3. Tobacco and Vapes Bill (UK Parliament legislation):

The Committee took evidence on supplementary legislative consent memorandum LCM-S6-51b from—

Jenni Minto, Minister for Public Health and Women's Health, Professor Linda Bauld OBE, Chief Social Policy Adviser, Katherine Mcgarvey, Lawyer and Fiona Dill, Team Leader for Tobacco and Nicotine, Scottish Government.

Sandesh Gulhane declared an interest as a practising NHS GP.

4. Tobacco and Vapes Bill (UK Parliament legislation) (In Private):

The Committee considered a draft report and agreed to consider an updated draft via correspondence.

5. Public Health Scotland (In Private):

The Committee considered the evidence it heard earlier under agenda item 2.

6. Annual Report 2025-26 (In Private):

The Committee considered a draft annual report for the Parliamentary year from 13 May 2025 to 8 April 2026. Subject to one minor change, the report was agreed for publication.

7. Session 6 Legacy Report (In Private):

The Committee considered a draft report. One amendment was agreed to and the Committee agreed to consider an updated draft via correspondence.
