1. Decisions on taking business in private:

The Committee agreed to take items 6 and 8 in private and to consider a draft Legacy Report and draft annual report in private at future meetings.


2. Sport and physical activity:

The Committee took evidence from—

Kim Atkinson, Chief Executive Officer, Scottish Sports Association;

Forbes Dunlop, Chief Executive Officer, sportscotland;

Dr David Meir, Lecturer in sport coaching and development, University of the West of Scotland;

Jon Doig OBE, Chief Executive Officer, Commonwealth Games Scotland.

Dr Sandesh Gulhane declared an interest as a practising NHS GP.


3. Subordinate legislation:

The Committee took evidence on the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 (Licensing of Skin Piercing and Tattooing) Amendment Order 2026 from—

Jenni Minto, Minister for Public Health and Women's Health, Lucy Orren, Lawyer, and Alun Parry, Health Protection Team Leader, Scottish Government.


4. Subordinate legislation:

Jenni Minto (Minister for Public Health and Women's Health) moved—

S6M-20591—That the Health, Social Care and Sport Committee recommends that the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 (Licensing of Skin Piercing and Tattooing) Amendment Order 2026 be approved.

The motion was agreed to.



6. Subordinate legislation (In Private):

The Committee considered a draft report on the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 (Licensing of Skin Piercing and Tattooing) Amendment Order 2026. The Committee delegated to the convener responsibility for finalising the report for publication.



7. Draft Climate Change Plan (In Private):

The Committee considered a draft report and agreed it for publication.


8. Sport and physical activity (In Private):

The Committee considered the evidence it heard earlier under agenda item 2.
