1. Decisions on taking business in private:

The Committee agreed to take items 4 and 6 in private.


2. Product Regulation and Metrology Bill (UK Parliament legislation):

The Committee took evidence on the supplementary legislative consent memorandum LCM-S6-50a and on the second supplementary legislative consent memorandum LCM-S6-50b from—

Richard Lochhead, Minister for Business and Employment, supported by 

Pieter van de Graaf, Head of International Trade Flows and Regulations, Scottish Government.


3. Community Wealth Building (Scotland) Bill:

The Committee took evidence on the Bill at Stage 1 from—

Stacey Dingwall, Head of Policy and External Affairs, Federation of Small Businesses Scotland;

Matt Pearce, Board Member, Development Trusts Association Scotland;

Morven Taylor, Acting Chief Executive Officer, Communities Housing Trust;

Adrian Sargent, Chief Executive Officer, Castle Community Bank;

and then from—

Calum Lindsay, Policy Manager Environment and Economy;

Cllr Gail Macgregor, Environment and Economy Spokesperson, Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA).

   Colin Smyth indicated that he is a member of the Dumfries Town Board.

 

   Daniel Johnson declared an interest as a member of the Federation of Small Businesses.


4. Product Regulation and Metrology Bill (UK Parliament legislation) (In Private):

The Committee considered the evidence heard earlier under agenda item 2 and agreed to consider a draft report, in private, at a future meeting.




5. Community Wealth Building (Scotland) Bill (In Private):

The Committee considered the evidence heard earlier under agenda item 3.


6. Correspondence (In Private):

The Committee considered correspondence from Ferguson Marine (Port Glasgow) Limited and the Scottish Tourism Alliance. The Committee agreed to invite the Chief Executive of Ferguson Marine (Port Glasgow) Limited to give evidence to the Committee at a future meeting. The Committee also agreed to take evidence on the tourism industry at a future meeting.
