1. Decision on taking business in private:

The Committee agreed to take item 4 in private.


2. Town centres and retail:

The Committee took evidence from—

Douglas Cowan, Director of Communities and Place, Highlands and Islands Enterprise;

Bryan McGrath, Director of Enterprise and Place, South of Scotland Enterprise;

Derek Shaw, Director of Innovation and Place, Scottish Enterprise;

and then from—

Craig Iles, Service Lead in Planning and Building Standards , South Ayrshire Council;

Bill Lindsay, Service Manager Policy and Place in Planning Services, Fife Council;

Steve Rogers, Head of Economy and Development , Dumfries and Galloway Council.


3. Town centres and retail (in private):

The Committee considered the evidence heard earlier in the meeting.


4. Annual report (in private):

The Committee considered a draft annual report for the Parliamentary year from 13 May 2021 to 12 May 2022.  Various changes were agreed to, and the report was agreed for publication
