Questions and answers

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government, following the statement by the Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Local Government on 4 December 2024, in which it was announced that it would be "making an additional £3 million available to help to tackle retail crime", whether funding will be ringfenced for (a) dealing with prolific shoplifters and organised criminal gangs involved in shoplifting and (b) other purposes designed to minimise crime against shops, retailers and shop workers.
