To ask the Scottish Government what assessment has been made of the impact of the reported funding reduction of between £550,000 and £650,000 to the women's justice service, and specifically the reported reduction of capacity from 12 to eight beds in the Turning Point Scotland 218 service.
Answer
Decisions about the commissioning of individual community justice services, such as the 218 Service in Glasgow, are a matter for local authorities.
Community justice funding is primarily based on a local model, with the Scottish Government providing funding to local authorities which then provide or commission services according to local needs. Even where aspects of that funding are targeted at more specific needs, the commissioning and management of those services - including any re-tendering exercises - is a matter for the relevant local authority.
The Scottish Government has not reduced the overall funding available for community justice services across Scotland nor asked local authorities to reduce any specific funding within that.

To ask the Scottish Government, according to the latest data, how many children
(a) in Aberdeen and (b) throughout Scotland are in receipt of Scottish Child
Payment.
Answer
Social Security Scotland routinely publishes information on Scottish Child Payment applications, payments and the number of children actively in receipt of the payment.
As of 30 June 2023, 316,190 children aged 0-15 years were actively benefitting from Scottish Child Payment. Of those children, 10,165 children resided in Aberdeen City. This information along with other local authority areas can be found in the latest Scottish Child Payment Official Statistics publication:
https://www.socialsecurity.gov.scot/publications .
The next edition of the Scottish Child Payment publication which will cover the period to the end of September 2023, is due to be published in late November 2023.

To ask the Scottish Government what progress it has made on expanding the Caledonian System, since January 2022.
Answer
Since January 2022, the primary focus of the Caledonian System has been on reaccreditation with comprehensive material provided to the Scottish Advisory Panel on Offender Rehabilitation (SAPOR) earlier this year. Accreditation is an important step in independently re-checking the current programme design prior to further roll out. There has also been work servicing demand for training from existing delivery sites with a series of training events now set through to 2024. An Outcomes Monitoring Report has been compiled and will be published shortly which will look at: change in men’s beliefs, attitudes and behaviour; change for women who engage with the programme around safety, empowerment, and wellbeing; and the extent to which the wellbeing of children improved and the risk of harm to children reduced.
Since January 2022 there has also been work within the Scottish Government to conclude a procurement exercise to secure a licence arrangement for use of the SARA-V3 risk assessment tool. This tool is embedded in the Caledonian System and is also used by justice social work and other professionals in assessing the risk posed by domestic abuse offenders across all of Scotland. For the first time this has been procured on a long-term (5 year) basis, providing certainty for ongoing delivery and securing savings on the annual cost of the licence. Conversation is also continuing direct with individual local authorities about readiness for any further roll out of the Caledonian System to new geographical areas.

To ask the Scottish Government what proportion of pupils have had at least one week away at an outdoor centre in the last 12 months.
Answer
Scottish Government does not collect the data requested. However the Scottish Advisory Panel for Outdoor Education (SAPOE), which is the forum for Local Authority representatives to consider and debate best practice in the development and safe delivery of Outdoor Learning, conducted a survey exercise earlier this year to gather a range of data and evidence relating to outdoor centres. SAPOE can be contacted at [email protected] .

To ask the Scottish Government whether it will provide an update on the network of menopause specialists and any progress that this group has made, including any minutes of previous meetings.
Answer
The Menopause Specialist Network, chaired by Dr Heather Currie, has been meeting on a quarterly basis since 2021. A peer support group, the Network includes representatives from all the mainland Health Boards, providing consistent advice and peer support to healthcare professionals. The Network supports primary care teams by providing access to a menopause specialist for consistent advice, support, onward referral, leadership and training.
We have also recently established a Menopause Clinical Reference Group. Issues raised by the Network are fed into the Group which then considers potential Scotland wide approaches.
Information on the activity of the Network can be found in the Women's health plan: progress report published in January 2023 and the Womens-health-plan-interim-progress-update published in August 2023.

To ask the Scottish Government how it plans to engage with local authorities to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in primary and secondary schools during the school year 2023-24.
Answer
The Scottish Government COVID-19 guidance for schools remains in place and we know that schools continue to find the health protection principles in that guidance to be helpful in protecting the health of staff and pupils.
We have however been working with Public Health Scotland, local authorities and other stakeholders to develop updated guidance that better reflects current circumstances and will help schools continue to prevent the spread of COVID, other respiratory infections and infectious diseases in general.
This will provide a practical guide for staff on managing cases of infectious diseases across educational settings without placing additional significant burden or demands on staff. As has always been the case, Health Protection Teams and local NHS Boards will continue to work closely with schools to provide any advice and support needed to deal with specific situations that arise.

To ask the Scottish Government whether it will provide a list of the named women's health leads in every NHS board.
Answer
The Government does not propose to publish the names of Women's Health Leads in each Health Board. These roles are not public appointments and the role will be an operational and / or clinical one, depending on local priorities and circumstances. Leads are of course accountable to their employing Health Board.
