Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)

To ask the Scottish Government what its response is to the Care Inspectorate’s report, Guidance for children and young people’s services on the inclusion of transgender including non-binary young people, which states that "a young person aged 12 and over is presumed to have sufficient capacity to make decisions about medical treatment, although we recognise this will not always be the case".

To ask the Scottish Government, in light of recent reports of a potential takeover of the FTSE 250-listed company, John Wood Group, by the United Sates' private equity fund, Apollo Global Management, what its position is on whether takeovers of Scottish companies that are of strategic importance to the economy should be subject to a public interest test, and whether it will outline the scope of any intervention action it can take to safeguard such companies.

To ask the Scottish Government what its response is to the findings in the Maternal Mental Health Alliance report, Specialist perinatal mental health care in the UK 2023, that (a) six NHS boards predicted that there would be an underspend in their perinatal mental health budgets for 2022-23 due to recruitment issues and (b) 92% of NHS boards in Scotland reported underspends in their perinatal mental health budgets between 2020 and 2022.
