European and External Relations Committee 08 September 2016

Agenda: Interests, Decision on Taking Business in Private

Good morning, everyone. Welcome to the fourth meeting in session 5 of the European and External Relations Committee.

I remind members and the public to turn off mobile phones to ensure that they do not interfere with the broadcasting equipment. Any members using electronic devices to access committee papers during the meeting should ensure that they are switched to silent mode.

No apologies have been received today.

Before we proceed to our first agenda item, I welcome to the committee our two new members, Emma Harper and Stuart McMillan. I look forward to working with you both. I also to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing members, Ash Denham and Bruce Crawford. It was a pleasure to work with them both, albeit for a short time. On behalf of the committee, I wish them well.

Agenda item 1 is a declaration of interests by our new members. I invite Emma Harper and Stuart McMillan to declare any interests that they have that are relevant to the committee’s work.

This might not be a relevant interest at the moment, but I have a partnership with my husband in a bed and breakfast in Dumfries.

When I was at university, my first course was through a Socrates Erasmus scheme. When I stayed on to do my masters, I obtained funding from the European social fund.

Thank you very much.
