Good morning, everyone, and welcome to the first meeting of the Europe, External Affairs and Culture Committee in session 7 of the Scottish Parliament. We have no apologies to record for today’s meeting.
The first agenda item is the declaration of registrable interests that are relevant to the work of the committee. Members are aware of the requirement to make oral declarations. I will start, and then we will go round the table.
I have no registrable interests in relation to the committee’s remit. However, the voluntary section of my entry in the register of interests notes that I am a vice-president of the European Movement in Scotland, which is an unpaid position for which I receive no other benefits.
I have no registerable interests at all.
I have no interests in addition to the ones that I have already declared in my declaration of interests.
I direct members to my declaration of interests. In the voluntary section, that shows that I am the vice-chair of the National Mining Museum Scotland, which is in receipt of funds from the United Kingdom Government. I am also a director trustee of the National Library of Scotland Foundation.
I direct members to my entry in the register of interests. I am a sitting councillor on West Lothian Council—I have a dual mandate. I was also employed by the National Youth Choir of Scotland until May this year.
I have no registrable interests, but I would like to declare that, prior to my election, I was an employee of Christian Aid and, before that, the Red Cross.
Jenny Young(Central Scotland and Lothians West) (Lab):I have no registrable interests to declare, but the voluntary section of my entry in the register of interests shows that I am a member of the General Teaching Council for Scotland and of the GMB.
Thank you all very much.
I remind members that, as well as this declaration in the first meeting, it is expected that members should make a similar oral declaration of relevant interests at future meetings if there is something on the agenda that relates to one or more registrable interests.
