Deputy Convener

The next item of business is the appointment of a deputy convener. The Parliament has decided that the post of deputy convener should be held by a member of the Scottish National Party. I seek a nomination for the post of deputy convener.

I nominate Kenny MacAskill.

Mr Kenny MacAskill was chosen as deputy convener.

Are you happy to remain sitting where you are?

I am more than happy to stay here.

The Convener:

Two other members of the committee have just arrived. We will let them take their seats and catch their breath. They have the opportunity to declare any relevant interests to the committee before we move on to the next item. Susan Deacon's apologies have been noted.

I declare an interest as a member of the National Farmers Union of Scotland and the Scottish Crofting Foundation.

I have no relevant interests to declare.
