1. Declaration of interests:

Members of the Committee were invited to declare any relevant interests.

Patrick Harvie declared an interest as Vice-President of the European Movement in Scotland.

Senga Beresford said that she had no relevant interests to declare.

Keith Brown said that he had no relevant interests to declare.

Colin Beattie declared an interest as Vice-Chair of the National Mining Museum of Scotland and a Director trustee of the National Library of Scotland Foundation.

Pauline Stafford declared an interest as a sitting councillor on West Lothian Council and as a former employee of the National Youth Choir of Scotland.

David Green indicated he is a former employee of Christian Aid and the Red Cross.

Jenny Young declared she is a member of the General Teaching Council of Scotland and a member of GMB Scotland.

 


2. Choice of Deputy Convener:

The Committee chose Senga Beresford as its new Deputy Convener.


3. Decision on taking business in private:

The Committee agreed to take item 6 in private.


4. Membership of External Bodies:

The Committee agreed to propose Keith Brown as its nomination for representation at the next meeting of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities (CLRAE) of the Council of Europe.


5. Work programme:

Members provided some initial reflections on their priorities for a work programme.

The Committee agreed to hold a business planning day.


6. Work programme (In Private):

The Committee considered its approach to developing its work programme.
