1. Decision on taking business in private:

The Committee agreed to take item 4 in private.


2. Subordinate legislation:

The Committee considered the following negative instrument—

Diligence against Earnings (Variation) (Scotland) Regulations 2024

and agreed to invite the Minister for Public Finance to attend the next meeting.


3. Petroineos Grangemouth:

The Committee took evidence from—

Robert Deavy, Senior Organiser for Manufacturing, GMB Scotland;

Derek Thomson, Unite Scotland Regional Secretary, Unite the Union.


4. Petroineos Grangemouth (In Private):

The Committee considered the evidence heard earlier in the meeting, agreed to request sight of the documents referred to by Unite the Union and GMB Scotland and to invite the Secretary of State for Energy Security and the acting Cabinet Secretary for Net Zero and Energy to attend a future meeting of the Committee.
