MSPs can claim money back for "expenses" (costs). These must be costs from carrying out their duties in Parliament or helping their constituents.
In accordance with paragraph 3.7 of the Reimbursement of Members’ Expenses Scheme the SPCB is required to make available for public inspection a register detailing the employment by an MSP of a close family member of another MSP.
A ‘close family member’ for the purposes of the Scheme means:
a spouse, civil partner or cohabiting partner of the MSP; or
a parent, child, grandparent, grandchild, sibling, uncle, aunt, nephew or niece of the MSP or of a person mentioned in sub-paragraph (a);
The latest version of the register is:
| MSP | Staff member | Related MSP | Relationship | Job role | Effective date |
