Employing MSP family members

The Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body has to publish a register of MSPs who employ a close family member of another MSP.

This is a requirement of the Reimbursement of Members’ Expenses Scheme

A close family member for the purposes of the Scheme means:

  1. a spouse, civil partner or cohabiting partner of the MSP
  2. or a parent, child, grandparent, grandchild, sibling, uncle, aunt, nephew or niece of the MSP or of a person mentioned in (a)
