Questions and answers

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government, further to its answer to question S7W-02315 by Gillian Martin on 24 August 2026, and in light of the Marine Strategy Regulations 2010, which require a programme of measures necessary to achieve or maintain Good Environmental Status, whether it considers that the measures currently in place in Scottish waters are sufficient to achieve Good Environmental Status for seafloor integrity, and, if it has not yet established that they are sufficient, under which provision of the Regulations it considers that implementation of any necessary additional measures may lawfully be deferred.
