Current cross-party groups

Ahead of the Scottish Parliament election on 7 May 2026, all Cross-party groups (CPGs) from Session 6 ceased to exist from 26 March 2026.

After the election, Cross-party groups can seek to establish themselves through the Standards, Procedures and Public Appointments Committee and should contact its clerks at the start of the session.

Re-establishing a CPG after an election

CPGs provide an opportunity for MSPs to engage with external stakeholders on a particular subject.  They are not formal parliamentary business.  Views expressed by members of cross-party groups are their own and do not represent the views of the Scottish Parliament.

The MSP who convenes a cross-party group is responsible for signing off papers published on the group’s behalf.  Any questions or complaints about their content should be directed to the convener of the group.
