To ask the Scottish Government for what reason the bingo industry is ineligible for the Hospitality Top Up Fund.
Answer
The Hospitality Top Up Fund provides support to hospitality businesses that lost bookings during the festive trading period, including pubs, restaurants, cafes and nightclubs.
Bingo businesses are eligible for funding though the Hospitality and Leisure top-up fund which supports businesses impacted by the necessary public health restrictions introduced from 27 December 2021, including requirements for physical distancing and capacity limits.

To ask the Scottish Government, further to the debate on motion S6M-02625 (A New Deal for Tenants), how it plans to increase its ambitions for the building of more homes for social rent, and on what date any increased ambition will be announced.
Answer
As set out in our Programme for Government, the Scottish Government has already increased its ambition and commitment to deliver more social homes by increasing our affordable homes target from 100,000 to 110,000 affordable homes by 2032, with 70% of these being for social rent.
Housing to 2040 sets out our long term vision for Housing in Scotland. While a longer-term ambition allows for greater foresight, it does present challenges with predicting how circumstances might change or what unforeseen events might arise. That is why we will carry out a review at the mid-point of the target period, to assess if plans should continue unchanged or be adapted.

To ask the Scottish Government when owners of homes with combustible cladding will have access to a compensation and remediation scheme.
Answer
Our building by building approach aims to offer reassurance and our priority is always to secure the safety of people in their own homes. Inspections are underway and we expect the first completed reports soon.
We expect that the majority of buildings will be shown to be safe, but where issues are found, then we will seek the most appropriate solutions to remediation. We urge other parties, such as developers, to continue to play their part where construction is found to be unsafe.

To ask the Scottish Government whether impact assessments were undertaken to inform decision making when using emergency COVID-19 powers.
Answer
Impact Assessments have been part of the decision making process in our use of emergency Covid-19 powers. Policy continues to be developed with regard to the need to protect human rights, equality considerations, the impact on business and the particular needs of island communities. Appropriate impact assessments are carried out and reported to the Scottish Parliament.
