To ask the Scottish Government what plans it has for new cull targets for deer populations.
Answer
As we set out in our 2021 Programme for Government we will: ‘modernise deer management, implementing the recommendations of the Deer Management Working Group.’
The Deer Working Group report includes recommendations relating to cull targets, including those for a cull approval system, and we are working with NatureScot, and other relevant agencies, to progress those recommendations under the Scottish Biodiversity Strategy Programme.

To ask the Scottish Government whether it plans to bring forward any new incentives for land managers in relation to deer management.
Answer
Work to improve the sustainability of Scotland’s deer management systems, including recommendations made by the Deer Working Group, will be taken forward under the Scottish Biodiversity Strategy.
Priorities will be broadly split across four streams: legislation; regulation; incentives; and operational delivery. The work stream focusing on incentives will include proposals to mainstream deer management into existing schemes, and scope for any new schemes.
We will lay out further details of this work in due course.

To ask the Scottish Government what consultation took place to inform its proposed plans to accredit new providers for the Accessible Vehicles and Equipment Scheme, and whether people who have already been allocated a vehicle under the scheme will be affected by the change.
Answer
The 2016 Consultation on Social Security in Scotland asked correspondents if the new Scottish social security system should continue to support access to the Motability scheme. Of the 200 respondents, 97% answered 'Yes'. During the subsequent consultation on Disability Assistance in 2019, the Government confirmed that a scheme equivalent to the Motability scheme would be put in place in advance of the delivery of Disability Assistance.
The Scottish Government believes that giving disabled people a range of suppliers to choose from will encourage value and promote choice. When the Accessible Vehicles and Equipment Scheme was launched in 2019, we therefore set out an intention to invite further applicants at regular intervals. Work to re-open further accreditation rounds will begin later this year.
Any future accreditation of providers under the Scheme will not affect people who have already leased a vehicle under the scheme.

To ask the Scottish Government what its response is to reports that over half of Scotland's fire stations are identified as being in poor, or worse, condition, and how much capital budget it will allocate to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service for the specific purpose of improving them.
Answer
SFRS has a capital budget of £32.5 million in 2022-23. Decisions on the allocation of its capital budget, including whether to prioritise fleet, equipment or buildings is a matter for SFRS.
The Scottish Government is in regular contact with SFRS to ensure it has the resources it needs to keep communities safe. SFRS is currently undertaking an assessment of the risks faced by communities and the assets which are needed to deal with those risks and this will inform future discussions on both capital and resource budgets.
