Questions and answers

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government what its response is to recent research by the Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights (CRER), which found that only 2.8% of Scotland’s public sector workforce identify as BME, in light of BME people being over 5% of the working age population.

To ask the Scottish Government, in light of the reported wildfire at Cannich and further to the answer to question Q6W-17514 by Siobhian Brown on 2 May 2023, which stated that the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service “should continue to make use of local assets available to bolster its response during prolonged or widespread incidents such as wildfire”, what its position is on how successful this approach has been, and whether it will consider further engagement with local authorities to prepare for extreme weather events.

To ask the Scottish Government, in light of reports that ChargePlace Scotland will be brought under private ownership, how it will guarantee that rural and island areas will receive sufficient electric vehicle (EV) charger coverage and operational support under a private ownership model to meet local demand and support these communities in transitioning away from fossil fuel transport.

To ask the Scottish Government, in light of the findings outlined in the Manchester Arena Inquiry report, what measures are in place to ensure that individuals providing first aid cover at events in Scotland receive ongoing training and updates to maintain their skills and qualifications at an appropriate level.
