Parliamentary Bureau Motions

The next item of business is consideration of two Parliamentary Bureau motions. I ask Euan Robson to move motion S1M-3421, on the approval of statutory instruments.

The Deputy Minister for Parliamentary Business (Euan Robson):

I was asked specifically by the business bureau to explain what the Scotland Act 1998 (Cross-Border Public Authorities) (Adaptation of Functions etc) (Amendment) Order 2002 is all about. It makes provisions in relation to the financial arrangements, control and accountability of the Meat and Livestock Commission. It was considered by the Subordinate Legislation Committee on 3 September and approved by the Rural Development Committee on 17 September.

I move,

That the Parliament agrees that the following Orders be approved—

the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman Act 2002 (Amendment) Order 2002;

the Scotland Act 1998 (Cross-Border Public Authorities) (Adaptation of Functions etc.) (Amendment) Order 2002; and

the Food Protection (Emergency Prohibitions) (Amnesic Shellfish Poisoning) (West Coast) (No.11) Order 2002 (SSI 2002/388).

Thank you. Will you also move formally motion S1M-3425, on substitution on committees?
