Good morning and welcome to the 22nd meeting in 2018 of the Rural Economy and Connectivity Committee. I ask all people present to ensure that their mobile phones are on silent. Apologies have been received from Gail Ross and Stewart Stevenson.
Agenda item 1 is a declaration of interests. I welcome Maureen Watt to her first meeting of the committee and invite her, as a new member of the committee, to declare any interests relevant to the committee’s remit. That is in accordance with section 3 of the code of conduct for members.
Thank you for the welcome. I am delighted to be on the committee. As some members will know, I am a farmer’s daughter and my brother still farms, but I have no financial interest in farming.
