1. Decisions on taking business in private:

The Committee agreed to take items 5 and 6 in private. The Committee will also agreed consideration of its work programme should be taken in private at future meetings.

2. Choice of Deputy Convener:

The Committee chose Ben Macpherson as its new Deputy Convener.

3. Frontline policing and non-criminal demands – evidence:

The Committee took evidence from—

Derek Cree, Chief Superintendent and Catriona Paton, Assistant Chief Constable, Policing Together, Police Scotland;

Alasdair Hay, Chair, Scottish Police Authority.

4. Health and inter-agency responses to people in distress – evidence:

The Committee took evidence from—

Brian McInulty, Assistant Inspector of Constabulary, HM Inspectorate of Constabulary in Scotland;

Kevin O'Neill, Programme Manager, National Distress Brief Intervention (DBI) Programme Board.

5. Work programme (in private):

The Committee considered its work programme, agreed its priorities for scrutiny during Session 7 and agreed that a statement of priorities should be published on the Committee’s webpage.

6. Review of evidence (in private):

The Committee reviewed the evidence heard under agenda items 3 and 4.
