I fully support the petition.
I live in Ardross. An application for a wind farm in the heart of our community is under consideration currentlyWe are a small scattered community - just a few hundred residents trying to fight a determined multinational organisation who, in my opinion, consistently shows no consideration or concern for us - indeed on many occasions their actions could be seen as bullying and intimidating.
There should be professional support for communities that are targeted simply because of their lack of critical mass and knowledge of the relevant planning legislation. This would enable communities to object effectively in these situations.
It is heart-breaking the damage that has been done even before the decision has been made on planning permission. Local communities fighting against us over income as if they are fighting over a dead person’s unclaimed belongings. When asked for support the representative of the energy provider simply responded - there is nothing I can do.
Our views should matter, we need help, we shouldn’t be feeling bullied and intimidated. Someone should protect us and the beautiful scenery we live in which, I believe, is totally unsuitable for the proposed development.
We as a community should have at least the same rights as other nations if not more given the interest in Scotland on a form of energy that, I believe, can cause such misery. It can also cause everything we have worked for, in terms of our homes, to be worth nothing and damage mental and physical health.
Someone should take a joined-up view of the totality of the provision not just make decisions on a case by case basis. It is that approach that could lead to my community being encased in a ring of steel. We need professional help.
