2 National Care Service (Scotland) Bill:

The Committee took evidence on the Bill at Stage 1 from—

Mark Hazelwood, Chief Executive, Scottish Partnership for Palliative Care;

Elinor Jayne, Director, Scottish Health Action on Alcohol Problems (SHAAP);

Kira McDiarmid, Senior Policy and Public Affairs Officer, Change Mental Health;

Susan Webster, Head of Policy and Campaigns, MND Scotland;

and then from—

Alison Leitch and Cathie Russell, Care Home Relatives Scotland ;

Dr Kainde Manji, Head of Dementia, Age Scotland's About Dementia Project;

3 European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018:

The Committee considered a proposal by the Scottish Government to consent to the UK Government legislating using the powers under the Act in relation to the following UK statutory instrument proposal— Food Supplements and Food for Specific Groups (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2022

The Committee agreed that the provisions set out in the notifications should be included in the UK SI. 


4 Subordinate legislation:

The Committee considered the following negative instruments— Official Controls (Import of High Risk Food and Feed of Non-Animal Origin) Amendment (Scotland) Regulations 2022;
Processed Cereal-based Foods and Baby Foods for Infants and Young Children (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2022

The Committee agreed to make no recommendations in relation to the instruments.


5 National Care Service (Scotland) Bill:

The Committee considered the evidence it heard earlier under agenda item 2.
