1 Public petitions: PE01787
The Committee considered correspondence from the Scottish Government on petition PE01787, on the use of Makaton sign language in the legal system. The Committee agreed to keep the petition open and to write to the petitioner. It also agreed to write to the Public Guardian in Scotland, the Mental Welfare Commission for Scotland, the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service, Police Scotland and COSLA.
2 Work programme (In Private):
The Committee considered its work programme and agreed to hold a session on access to justice at its meeting on 14 March. It also agreed to consider a detailed approach to its work on race inequality at a future meeting.
