The Committee took evidence from—

Lady Ann Paton, Chair, Scottish Law Commission;

Professor Andrew Steven, Chair of Property Law at the University of Edinburgh and former Scottish Law Commissioner;

Emeritus Professor George Gretton, Lord President Reid Professor of Law at the University of Edinburgh and former Scottish Law Commissioner.

6 Levelling-up and Regeneration Bill (UK Parliament legislation) (in private):

The Committee considered the powers to make subordinate legislation conferred on UK Ministers in devolved areas in the Levelling-up and Regeneration Bill (UK Parliament legislation). 

The Committee agreed to write to the UK Government, copying the letter to the Scottish Government, the Net Zero, Energy and Transport Committee, the Local Government, Housing and Planning Committee and the Constitution, Europe, External Affairs and Culture Committee.


7 Moveable Transactions (Scotland) Bill (in private):

The Committee considered the evidence it heard earlier under agenda item 3 and agreed to write to the Scottish Government.
