Parliamentary Bureau

The Bureau is responsible for proposing the Parliament’s business programme each week.

Typically, it meets every Tuesday when Parliament is sitting. It discusses and agrees what the weekly business programme should be for the chamber.

The Bureau is also responsible for proposing the establishment of committees, and their respective remits and memberships.

Membership of the Bureau includes:

  • the Presiding Officer (chair)
  • a member of parties or groupings with 5 or more MSPs
