Whatever form they take, businesses rely on people, whether that is people doing jobs or people coding and developing the next round of automation that is coming in.
The issue is about dealing with discrimination and not about the moral code that you have in your faith. That is where the committee is under the most pressure on the issues that are coming before us.
When something like that happens, does someone not look at the codes? Did someone not look into the variance and the problems that existed, and say, “These codes are not proper—there is massive variance here”?
I am not pointing the finger at any individuals or at any style of fishing; it is just important to know of the problems that arise where there are only gentlemen’s agreements rather than codes of practice that are enforceable.
The EHRC already provides guidance for individuals, organisations and the public sector as well as a statutory code of practice, which assists service providers with understanding the relevant issues.

Compliance with the code – which is enforced by the Scottish Information Commissioner – should therefore mean that authorities outsourcing any of their functions consider the implications for access to information.
To ask the Scottish Government what steps it is taking to reduce the number of patients who are designated as code 9 in the Delayed Discharges Definitions and Data Recording Manual but are not recorded on the delayed discharge database.
It is routine for the Scottish Government to inform constituency and regional MSPs, in line with section 9.20 of the Ministerial Code, prior to ministerial engagements.
