In the case of these restrictions, this reliance on indirect imposition is a vital means of safeguarding the rights of individuals.
The review process under section 86G
During questioning, it was suggested that the Bill should go further and set out the terms under which regulations would be reviewed.

In addition, we cannot agree to any legislation that gives snooping rights to banks and other companies in the way that is enabled by the bill, even if not all those powers would be explicitly allowed in Scotland.
