We can measure the emissions by sector and regularly do so, but one issue that has been pointed out is that the emissions data that we collect is quite a few years out of date. The early indicators are therefore the key thing and it is important to get a sense from each sector of how we will know whether we are making progress.
We are working, through the peatland expert advisory group, with the Scottish Government to bring the peatland guidance up to date because it is a little out of date and out of step with the advice in NPF4.
Income and poverty statistics are always challenging because, generally, they are at best a year out of date when they arrive. Because of the pandemic, they have been even more out of date and less reliable.

Scottish ministers have met with representatives of Rothschild bank on two occasions in connection with ideas developed by Rothschilds with regard to the forestry sector.
