On 13 November 2023, Mr Matheson gave an interview to the BBC in which the costs were attributed to an out-of-date SIM card. In neither the statement nor the interview were the circumstances in which the data use had occurred set out.
These updates should include updated information on the expenditure incurred to date, any changes in forecast costs and any savings arising from the Bill and the subsequent Act (subject to the Bill being passed) and relevant secondary legislation, until all provisions are operational.
Trusts are a very common way of managing assets, and trustees rely on the law to guide them on how to manage their specific trust. The main current law on trusts dates back to the 1920s, and can be difficult to navigate.
A motion, agreed on 16 June 2021, amended the end date of provisions for hybrid proceedings, proxy voting and remote meetings of select committees to 22 July 2021 (the date the House rose for summer recess).

If the Presiding Officer wishes to postpone for a reason related to Coronavirus, he must be satisfied that the Parliament could not meet safely to legislate to change the date of the Poll. As such we recognise that the provision is unlikely to be invoked given the ability for the Parliament to meet virtually.
