Experiences of the Complex Mesh Surgical Service
During the Committee's scrutiny of the Transvaginal Mesh Removal (Cost Reimbursement) (Scotland) Bill in late 2021 and early 2022, the Committee were concerned to hear issues raised by women in relation the Complex Mesh Surgical Service (CMSS).
The service aims to support disabled people so that they can understand and access Social Security Scotland benefits.
On Thursday 24 November 2022, the Committee met with representatives from VoiceAbility to scrutinise the progress of their service.

In November 2022, the Committee agreed to to hear the views of stakeholder organisations on the impact of the cost of living crisis on disabled people and unpaid carers and on lone parents.
