To ask the Scottish Government whether it will provide an update on the date by which self-referral for over-70s to the breast screening programme will resume.
It is punishing low and middle-income families through fiscal drag, it is taking a hammer to the green renewables piggy bank and it is cutting public services for young and old alike.
We further call on the Scottish Government, in bringing forward those same
regulations, to address the potential time gap in eligibility for reimbursement
between the proposed cut-off date of 12 July 2021 and the actual date when
contracts with independent providers of mesh removal surgery are ultimately
concluded.

As noted in the letter from the Scottish Government to the Presiding Officer dated 15 June 2021, the careful work required on this issue was delayed to divert necessary resource to addressing the harms associated with the pandemic.
However, the rule that allowed that to happen was removed from the Scottish FA rulebook in August 2022, and the committee was informed of that change then.
The commissioner there reported in 2022 that “a not insignificant amount of resources of my Office are applied to dealing with what are ultimately unproved or unmeritorious allegations about legal practitioners”.
One of the key concerns around the Nationality and Borders Act 2022 is the need under the act for people to declare that they are a victim of trafficking early, because it is a frightening thing to admit to.
We will keep doing that through our work on the reports and papers that we will produce during 2022. Through our annual audit work in a local government context, we will look at the statutory duty of best value in relation to community empowerment and the wider duty on all accountable officers of public bodies to implement the principles of best value.
