I think that the First Minister misses a key point. We are going to have extra pressure added by winter, but if we cannot even handle the pressure pre-winter, imagine how hard it is going to be when winter arrives.
The amendment simply proposes that, instead of finishing at 5 o’clock tomorrow night, we stay for an extra 30 minutes until half past 5 to get the Lord Advocate in front of us to make a statement to the Parliament and to the people of Scotland and to answer questions.

Would it have been better if the submission had looked more at how much extra money you could do with and where you would put it to support all those functions?
Businesses have told me today and yesterday that, between now and April, those extra costs will amount to £15 million for convenience stores and between £10 million and £20 million for hospitality.
We heard that there was extra budget available for those things, so how much money has been set aside to assist in the tendering process for contracts?
