Land Register Completion
We continue to make good progress with adding land and property onto the land register in our quest to achieve functional completion of the Land Register by 2024. We estimate we have already registered over 80% of addresses that regularly transact, and this represents around half of Scotland's land mass.

SHORT-TERM LETS: LICENSING ORDER - 7 October 2021
All short-term lets will require to be licensed by 1 April 2024. The first indications of future activity will emerge in April 2023, as all existing operators will need to have submitted an application for a licence by 1 April 2023 in order to continue operating.

In the course of the final year, 2024-25, about 1,400 premises will get picked up; the vast majority of that work will have been done by the end of 2023, so only the tail end of that programme will stretch into 2024—about 5 per cent of the build-out in the south of Scotland.
