The pandemic saw a shift in the way UK consumers carry out their day-to-day business, with many former technophobes (including myself) finding the joy of next- day delivery and internet banking. Prior to coronavirus, I never entertained banking apps or contactless technology, electing instead to receive paper statements and utilise telephone banking to carry out remote business.

December 2021 Report

The Finance and Public Administration Committee has circulated guidance for subject committees to support them in their scrutiny of the framework for a resource spending review and Medium-Term Financial Strategy being published alongside the Scottish Budget 2022-23 on 9 December. The Committee has begun taking evidence in relation to the Scottish Budget 2022-23 and expects to publish its report in mid-January 2022.

We have taken decisive action in relation to debt including increasing the Minimum Protected Balance an individual can keep in their bank account when subject to debt recovery to £1000 and increasing the length of time people have to seek advice before action can be taken to pursue debt.
