We have regular meetings with all the inspectorate bodies, including HMICS, and I have regular contact with the chief inspector. With regard to policies and practices, we agree with the provision in the bill, but I recognise that, with regard to thematic reviews, inspections and audits, HMICS has primacy.

Turning to one of the things that we have introduced more in recent times, we have used NHS 24 to try and manage some of the challenge that we are experiencing in emergency departments in particular.
