The need for us to have control over spend and to ensure that public money is spent in the best way possible to ensure the best outcomes for communities is our clear priority.
Scotland and fine food were far from synonymous, except to a very few who were in the know. The vast bulk of our best produce went straight to the kitchens of some of the best hotels and restaurants around the world, as we allowed the “stack it high and sell it low” principle to take hold of our own diet.
The Scottish Government believes that the best place for a child to live whenever they need to leave their birth parents is in the wider family, if it is safe and in the child’s best interests to do so.
I am also pleased that members support the action that we are taking to invest in Scotland’s greatest resource, which is our children. We all want Scotland to be the best place to grow up and we all want our children to have the best start in life.
