Scottish Tourism and COVID-19 - Tourism targeted support

Larger grants up to £25,000 were available to those that could demonstrate that level of support was required. £120 million Pivotal Enterprise Resilience Fund (April 2020), managed by the enterprise agencies for vulnerable SME firms who were vital to the local or national economic foundations of Scotland. £1.1 million Bed and Breakfasts Hardship Fund (June 2020), managed by local authorities, provided £3,000 grants for Bed and Breakfasts and Small Serviced Accommodation who were facing hardship, but ineligible for other support as they were operating under a personal bank account £14 million Hotel Recovery Programme (July 2020) to help safeguard up to 3,000 jobs at Scotland’s larger hotels until the start of the summer 2021 tourism season.

UEFA European Championship (Scotland) Bill - Differences to the 2020 legislation

The Scottish Government have stated that the increased fine is in recognition that ticket touting has continued to grow and adapt to new technology, making it easier to tout at scale and for sums of money significantly higher than that envisaged in the 2020 legislation. Following evidence at Stage 1 of the 2020 legislation, concerns were raised that tickets which were sold or auctioned for charitable purposes could be considered to be an offence.
