Ensuring that communities are engaged with policy development and in long-term oversight and accountability, is of utmost importance, and we use mechanisms and routes to achieve that in the best way possible.
That report fulfils our requirement in sections 5 and 7 of the 2021 act to lay a one-off report before the Scottish Parliament one month after the act received royal assent.
Plans to establish the Victim Surcharge Fund (VSF) are progressing. Our intention is to lay the subordinate legislation required to establish the VSF in Parliament in early 2018.
